Protection & Justice Subgroup
This subgroup brings together professionals from the Northern Ireland Judiciary, Probation, PSNI, the Prison Service, and others involved in judicial provision.
It also includes statutory, community and voluntary groups and individuals across the South Eastern area who want to improve the services and support to all victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence and abuse.
The subgroup aims to keep abreast of the criminal justice system and the role of the criminal justice agencies such as the Police, Probation Board and Courts in supporting victims and survivors of domestic & sexual violence and abuse.
The group also aims to provide training and awareness on new initiatives, legislation and best practice relating to addressing domestic and sexual violence and abuse across the Partnership.
To do this, the group looks at new and emerging issues related to domestic & sexual violence and abuse. It identifies training needs and seeks ways to increase knowledge and understanding. Where necessary, the group supports joint training events and contributes to appropriate training resources.
Training & awareness-raising topics include:
- Domestic Abuse
- Technology Facilitated Domestic Abuse
