They also aim to offer relevant training and awareness-raising to professionals and community groups.

The Subgroup are consistently supported in its aims by the Ards & North Down PCSP, who have enabled the group to:

  • Develop resources for the technology facilitated domestic abuse animation
  • Host the seminar Domestic Abuse, Children and Young People
  • Host the seminar FGM and HBA
  • Facilitate three Nowhere To Run To (N2R2) events, in 2023, 2023 and 2025, in Ward Park, Bangor, to raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence and abuse and raise essential funds for North Down & Ards Women’s Aid and the Men’s Advisory Project.

The group also aims to provide training and awareness on new initiatives, legislation and best practice relating to addressing domestic and sexual violence and abuse across the Partnership. To do this, the group examines new and emerging issues and identifies training needs, seeking ways to increase knowledge and understanding. Where necessary, the group supports joint training events and contributes to appropriate training resources.
